The JIFFY REGISTER

Buzz, the Jiffy Romahome Camper
After enjoying the Jiffy Pick Up for a while, i decided to put an article in a few Magazine....
I had quite a bit of interest, including one person who came back saying he knew of a Camper versionin Colchester, Essex...
I managed to get hold of the gentlemans telephone number, gave him a call, but he wasnt really too keen on selling....
After a couple of days, his wife talked him round, and the deal was done over the phone, and I organised a weekend to travel up from Devon, to Colchester to pick up the  Jiffy Romahome....
This was the only photo i had seen!

The day had come......

Hmm... had i done the right thing???
I left South Devon at midnight, with loads of ideas about what i could do with the Mini Based Camper, thinking of the times we had struggled with a tent in the wind and rain, at various Mini Shows throughout the country, and was looking forward to the prospect of turning up, parking up, handbrake on and getting a cold beer out of the fridge!!!!
As i approached Essex, the mist came down, the drizzle started and as i pulled up at the address at 7am i was greeted by this green 'thing'....

WHAT HAD I DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To be honest, i was a little down hearted, thinking i had wasated my time and money, and this was going to be a mammoth task getting the Jiffy Camper back up and running and road worthy........
The owner came out, took my inside and filled me with a full english then we went out to look around Buzz, as the Camper was called.
This was the nickname given to the Jiffy by the owners grandchildren, due to the Yellow, Black and White, reminding them of a Bee...
The name has stuck since!
Now, i had no clue on how bad this was and when the gentleman said, 'lets see if it will start' I kinda giggled inside.
We decided to look into the engine compartment and after unhooking it, started to lift the front end to an almighty ripping sound!!! Oh!!!
I have never seen soooo many cobwebs!! Well atleast i know he hadnt 'played' with it before!!
I poured a gallon of petrol into the tank, there were no leaks, which is good, fitted a battery to it and put a key in the ignition..... Hmm....
Well, it turned over....!
So, after a few seconds turning over i decided to give a little helping hand... The fuel has been pumped up, but not for long, so i decided to just clean the points. Well, she had been sitting for 2 years undisturbed!!!
On getting back to the key, i turned it and immediately there was a cough and splutter, and, although slightly misfiring, she was running!! I felt happier!!

I shall add more information soon............
